I was terrified to do this…

I was terrified to do this.

But wanting to stretch myself to live my life outside of my comfort zone, I went on a silent retreat for 7 days.

No talking, no phones, no social media and no writing (although I did journal a few of the days 🙂).

The focus of the meditation retreat was silence and simplicity.

Because I was so restless the first several days, I told one of the teachers I was considering going home.

It was so hard.

She told me that what I was experiencing was not uncommon.

I’m glad I stuck it out.  By about day 5ish, I felt so calm and peaceful.

And, I got really clear about what I want and don’t want in my life.

We all have such wisdom inside of ourselves when we stop the noise.

Here is my room ⬇️ at the Insight Meditation Center in Barre, MA—with my bed made as well as I make it at home. 🤣

Do you make time to intentionally be silent and detach from everything?

I’d love to hear about your experience,

Also, I have released some awesome new episodes on my podcast, Joyful Purpose, including short episodes on mindfulness, confidence and interviews with amazing guests. (I am already at 2,100 downloads!🙏🏻–which I’m told is good😊)
