Finding joy in tough times is critical

Why finding your own joy each day isn’t frivolous…

Some days it’s hard to get out of bed when you think about the state of our world: horrible wars, prolific mass shootings, racial inequality, and global warming are just a few of the things that I get angry about.

So finding your calm and “joy” each day might seem like a waste of time and frivolous.

I SO disagree…

In fact, I think finding our own daily peace and joy is even more important during times of conflict.

In my own experience and with others with whom I work, people who cultivate positive emotions like joy–are generally happier, more engaged with the world. and more effective at cultivating change.

Screaming at each other never works.

Hurt people hurt people.

When we find our own calm, we can focus our attention and resources to the causes that matter to us in a responsive and non-reactive way.

“Be the change you wish to see and the world,” say Mahatma Gandhi.

How are you going to find your calm and joy today & this weekend?

I’d love to hear!

P.S.—If you need some help finding your joy, just reply to this email to set up a complimentary discovery call with me.

I’ve helped so many find their joy…even during hard times. Like my client, “Jane,” who said I helped her navigate her devastating cancer diagnosis with “peace and joy.”
