A Joy List is a list of things you can do that will bring you JOY â right now â no matter what else is happening in your life.đ
When my client, “Lena,” created her list, she was amazed to discover so many of her “joys” were simple and cost nothing. Lena’s list included things like: “Look up at the sky.”âī¸
Today my Joy List includes: 1) playing with my dog, Buttercup; đ 2) taking a walk; 3) playing fun music; 4) dancing with my daughter;đ 5) doing a headstand!
I have noticed that I feel the most joy when I am playing, and I try to infuse that playful feeling into all that I do.
I keep my list taped to a wall so that I am reminded to practice finding my joy, everyday â no matter what. It is always a choice.
If you want a simple way to create more JOY in your life, make a Joy List. đ
Here are some tips:
- Take 15 minutes and write down at least 10 things that fill you with delight. Do not censor yourself.
- Once you have your own list, post it where you will see it.
- Make a practice of doing at least one thing on your Joy List everyday.
